As October nears, there’s always one question you’re sure to hear, at least once or twice, as a member of the telecommunications industry – “Are you going to BroadSoft Connections?”  Year after year, we attempt to surpass the previous year, the unveiling of industry-firsts in product announcements, and becoming the one must-attend event for networking with leadership across the globe. BroadSoft Connections has steadily grown to become much more than a users’ conference and this year was no exception with the event’s promise to “Go Beyond”.  And it did.

2013’s event content was designed to move services beyond voice (and more – see post covering the event recap) to comprehensive UC offers.   To help achieve this promise, attendees were equipped with UC-OneTM for the desktop as well as the mobile application.  Introduced during last year’s BroadSoft Connections event, UC-One combines all of the required components to go beyond, into one user interface, accessible through a user’s multiple devices.  This year was no exception to the tradition of announcing our newest groundbreaking capabilities to invitation-only attendees. BroadSoft Connections 2013: Go Beyond brought the introduction of BroadWorks CollaborateTM , our newest server product that enables our customers to offer UC-One components like instant messaging and presence and desktop sharing with servers within their networks.  Our service provider customers now have the option to buy and embed software, for all of their unified communications services, through BroadWorks®, or provide UC services through our BroadCloud® technology.

Along with BroadWorks Collaborate, all of the newest innovations focus on enabling a superior experience for users.  Our other announcements included:

  • Mobility: Dual Personas – We have all experienced the impact of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) adoption.  BroadSoft UC-One now enables service providers to equip end-user devices (whether personal or enterprise provided) with a “dual persona”. “Dual personas” allow a user to easily separate their business contacts and communication services from their personal options through our BroadTouch product line.  BroadSoft’s BroadTouch Business Communicator also provides a secure environment for business applications and data and is controllable by the enterprise.  Find out more here.
  • Openness: BroadSoft Xtended Dialer for Chrome-Introducing the latest from BroadSoft Xtended.  The new BroadSoft Xtended Dialer for Chrome application allows users to access, control and manage their BroadSoft UC services directly from a Chrome browser.  Users can click-to-call phone numbers on any webpage and more! Find out more here.

  • Go-to-Market: Redesigned Xcelerate customer web portal – We hope you are familiar with BroadSoft’s go-to-market program, Xcelerate.   Xcelerate equips BroadSoft service providers with market-ready offerings to package, price and promote your UC services uniquely for each of your customer segments.  Now, you also have access to a redesigned Xcelerate customer portal, which in the last 12 months has doubled its available go-to-market sales, lead generation and fulfillment resources.  Visit Xcelerate.
